Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 21, 2026
At Nu Clinique, we are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of our clients' personal and medical information. As a provider of Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP), Semi-Permanent Makeup (PMU), and Paramedical Tattooing, we handle sensitive data with the highest level of security in accordance with Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).
Data We Collect (and Why)
Unlike a standard retail business, we collect Sensitive Personal Information.
-
Identification: Name, email, and phone number for booking and reminders.
-
Medical History: Skin conditions, allergies, and medications (e.g., blood thinners) to ensure the safety of your SMP or paramedical procedure.
-
Biometric Data (Photos): High-resolution "Before & After" photos. We distinguish between Clinical Photos (stored in your private medical file for progress tracking) and Marketing Photos (used for social media only with separate express consent).
The "Granular Consent" Principle
In compliance with Law 25, we never "bundle" your consent. You will be asked to provide separate, explicit consent for:
-
Treatment: Use of medical data to perform the procedure safely.
-
Marketing: Use of your photos on our Instagram or website (you may opt-out of this and still receive treatment).
-
Communications: Receiving newsletters or promotional offers.
Data Storage & Security
We employ a "Privacy by Design" approach:
-
Localization: Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. If data is stored outside of Quebec (e.g., via a cloud-based booking system), we conduct a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) to ensure it meets Quebec's protection standards.
-
Limited Access: Only your specific practitioner and our Privacy Officer have access to your health history.
-
Retention: We retain medical-grade records for 7 years after your last appointment (as per industry standards) before they are securely destroyed or anonymized.
Your Enhanced Rights
Under Quebec law, you hold the following rights:
-
Right to Access: You can request a copy of your full file at any time.
-
Right to Rectification: You can correct any inaccurate information.
-
Right to Portability: You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used technological format.
-
Right to be Forgotten: You may request the deletion of your data, subject to legal health record retention requirements.

Any questions, complaints, or requests to exercise your rights should be directed
